Evan Gershkovich, an American journalist for The Wall Street Journal, was arrested and falsely accused of espionage by Russia on March 29, 2023. His real crime? Journalism. On the one-year mark of his arrest, we launched Missing Articles: blank spaces on the cover and within The Wall Street Journal, representing the stories Evan should have written. Calling attention to Evan’s unjust detainment and ensure his absence would not be forgotten.
